By the way, Mikko - the boat looks fantastic
I can't see any reason for the rules to change in anyway. Everyone knows them now, boat and engine manufacturures. We wouldn't be very popular if these were changed.

I have discussed this with JP at the RYA and agreed to run with the rules as they are right now - except for mininum boat length (RIB's and hard boats) going up to 25/26ft - for Cowes Monte Carlo 2013. However, it's down to the ORC at the end of the day but personally I would want them to stay as is.

It's important that this is known now so teams can plan.

I think you'll find RB12 will be starting at Weymouth as per the RB 12 thread!

Also if you look at the page for the aero race it will give uou a clue as to the likely stops - good luck and look forward to seeing you on the start line!

[QUOTE=FLYING FISH;194126]Correct me if I`m wrong but `C` Sport is a bastardised class to suit the Buzzi clan, and now it stays.

Visited "The Godfather" when I was at the Genoa Boat Show about a month ago and tried to get a membership in the clan. Didnīt work out

"Aluminium hull!? Arneson drives!?" "Your an idiot!"
You get straight messages from that guy...

Other than that Mr Buzzi was very nice and showed us (my wife and me) around and talked racing for almost two hours. He also explained very carefully WHY I was an idiot.
I asked him about his influence on the Marathon-rules and why every class looks to suit his boats. "Just happened to get so...My only influence was on the weights".
So FF - donīt talk bad about The Godfather

Now there`s a can of worms that could blow the Boatmad server up.

I`ll have you know that the CUV designer was Mr.Buzzi`s hero,so he talks with forked tongue.Just trundle along at a measured pace in that tin boat and hopefully you won`t come back with a corrugated hull.Be a shame to destroy those nice smooth surfaces.

Hm... Must take it easy then
The problem is that I only have open sea here where I live. 180 km north of Stockholm and no islands.
Mostly the wind is from the North or NE so itīs sort of Lyme Bay all the time. Felt really at home the first day of RB 2008

But one must listen to people so I added some material to the tin can.

Before ordering the engines and other parts a friend of mine made a drawing of the engineroom with different alternatives.
Staggered Ilmors, 2x Volvo D6 and 2xFPT560.

After the choice was done some reinforcements were made to the transom and engineroom for the heavier engines/gearboxes.
The enginebeds are made of 8 mm 6082 Alu. The stringers and the framings are made of 6061 and the hull is made of 5083.

The spring feels far away...Even the Tundra is freezing.
Weīve had between -10 to -20 Celsius the last week.

FPT wanted to make some updates on the engines so... back to FPT with them! Itīs all your fault, Dean
This was before Christmas and I just got them back last Friday. Almost three months...

The modifications are new exhaust manifolds, removal of the internal oil cooler, new camshaft sensors, new oil pressure springs and sensors.
New piston cooling jets, turbo water jacket bleed points and pipe work. Plus a new ECU-flash.

Have a question. Are the bolts that go through the drive bolted through the transom or are they merely tapped into the wedge plate?

They are both. Had to alter the location of them because of the beam on the inside of the transom.
Three of the bolts are tapped into the wedgeplate with M18x1,5 Helicoil and four goes through the transom.
The wedgeplate has another 3 bolts that goes through as you can see on the picture.

Had all the bolts custommade as I could not use all of the Arneson-bolts.

Bit tight with all the stuff on the transom.
The steeringcylinders will be crossed but we made a simulation and that will work fine.
The trimcylinders had to be "stroked" about 28 mm to get them in the right place. No problems according to Rik Wimp at Arneson.

There have been some issues with overheating on the FPT560-s so a pair of15" SPAL-fans will feed the engineroom with cool air.
Also means that I donīt need those ugly scoops. Air will be let out through the back part of the enginehatch.
