Sale Now On!
The R.M.Y.C. at Poole have just reduced the entry fee for the Invitation Basic 15/16th August for sportsboats, RIBs, Hondas up tp 250 HP.
NOW £125. Less than £2 per mile for this 64 mile basic race!
Any questions ~ we'll be at ORDA's Torquay, doing safety work for their event.

Hi Dan I think I'd be pushing my luck on doing this, all the info is on the first few posts of Cowes posting on here.its a Friday scrutineering jobie. Its 75 miles A-I dont think I'd have enough fuel and B-I'd probably get lost as have no navigation skills, its the same for Needles-Fuel could be an isue at 65 miles also its 6 laps so obviously big laps requireing navigation, bear in mind Torquay was 12 laps at 45-50 miles.I thought 45-50 was the maximum for a Basic?

RMYC Poole Basic race 15/16 August
Nic, special permission from RYA for Basics to do the same course as Class III. But as the 1st finisher in this race will finish the race for everyone, it is unlikely that you would have to do the full distance. This may help the fuel issue. Do you need help with a navigator?

Once you're sorted out the decorating come down to Salcombe and I'll help you with anything you need to know about navigating.

It's only a title - they don't let me make important decisions like that!

Hi I've just checked the residual fuel left in the tank after Torquay started with 90 litres(20 gals),52 litres left having covered 7 laps inc start lap of 12 of the 45-50 miles course so I think trying to get 65 miles out of it would be a tuff call, also I'm not sure if my old body would take the pounding-I'm still aching from Torquay
I hope the weather is kind to you and hope the event goes well-Thanks for your help I'll put it in the diary for next year-Cheers Nic
