Cowes 2010 update

Some general information regarding the racing at Cowes next year.

UIM Marathon Series World Cup.

August 27th 10.30 am Heat 1 "The Cowes 100"

August 29th 10.30 am Heat 2 "The Cowes Torquay Cowes"

Points will be awarded in the usual UIM format ie. 1st 400 2nd 300 etc.

Subject to permissions from Harbour Masters etc. we expect the races to start and finish from the Royal Yacht Squadron line.

Although the UIM have allowed multi hulls into their international Marathon rules, the BPRC have informed the RYA that this event will be for mono hulls only - the RYA have told the BPRC that is their choice as the hosting club.

Cowes Poole Cowes Races

ORDA have again been invited to hold V24 and Class 3 racing at Cowes - The BPRC awaits the ORDA AGM for their decision.

The CPC basic race can only run if a) ORDA put Cowes on their calendar b) If the organisers have enough basic entries to merit a "stand alone" race. (It appears that the boats placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in this years basic CPC race wished that they had raced the CTC!).

Officials

Rob Andrews will be OOD for the event, Sally Windsor race secretary and Amanda Raby will once again look after safety.

Racing Instructions

Racing Instructions will be posted on the BPRC web site in early spring next year and also snail mailed to known Marathon competitors.
