Another victory for Mike & Jackie

http://www.powerboatp1.com/public/re...events_id=4769

We need some average speeds though, as you can't tell how it really panned out just from a finishing order.

Another victory for Mike & Jackie ....

But why does "powerboatp1" feel the need for such a ridiculous watermark on their pictures .... ( and i do mean the boats ) at that resolution is it really necessary ?

Well done Mike and Jackie. Also cover page of the "In Gear" section of "The Sunday Times".

Good luck for the rest of the year.

I don't have all the times, but have posted results at:

http://www.extremeboat.com/racerepor...e%20Report.htm

We finished 3rd overall on Saturday, just behind Wettpunkt and OSG
We were 3.5 mins ahead of the new C******* 41' with Buzzi Bullett and the other C******* not far behind :-)

In Evolution ... Fainplast was first (then de-Q for missing a buoy), closely followed by Donzi with Wettpunkt a little behind them. Kiton was way back (behind us) and the Outerlimits boat broke a water pump

Wow.

Wettpunct looks like a fully enclosed canopy boat! How on earth do they manage to fit that in the rules. ( serious question!! )

Is it not the same or very similar boat to Sony/Kerakol?

Nope, the kerakol (fabio buzzi) boat has been sold. The wettpunct still match the rules as they have almost the same escape space Kerakol had, actualy it's almost the same canopy.

According to Sky telly last night, that showed some P1 stuff from last year and a taster for this one, Giovanni Carpitella, throttleman from Kerakoll last year, is in OSG Donzi this year.

Twas quite a good programme. (also showed Jackie in a posh frock)

yes, quite a few of the Italians swapped round! Carpitella is in Donzi, Stefano Cola who drove Donzi last year is driving Fainplast this year. KeraKoll has been sold.

Ironically, if it had not been for the DQ, Fainplast would have beaten Donzi!

What channel/programme/time showed the preview on Sky??

Hello Mike,
it was on SkySports 3 or something, might have been "Raceworld" ?

Showed you and Jackie being interviewed at last season's presentation, also Martin Li. Highlights from last years races and a bit of a preview of the new team(s) for this year. They looked like the same trophies you carted out in a wheelbarrow at the RYA do in Feb, made ours look a bit average.

Great stuff, thanks guys! Can't wait to see the recap shows on Speed next winter... (As I recall I can see them on the P1 web site at some point to, but I had to toss a boot in on Speed when I have the chance!)

Any guess whether Panatta coming back with Thuraya for any races? Any news on the Swiss Pantera (Abel watches sponsored last year as I recall)?

Good luck and have a sucessful and safe season!

Panatta is not racing this year.
Christophe is racing the Pantera and will be in Naples .. I don't think Abel sponsored him in the end.

Thanks for the wishes .. let's hope every race is rough like Malta

No, Wettpunt is not considered as an closed canopy boat as the cockpit is completely open from behind. This opening is falling perfectly in the rules.
