[QUOTE=motorvator;
I've been keeping an eye out for this speed limit B*ll*x that the PLA are threatening and having spoken to Pash we are inclined to keep it as a formal run from Greenwich to Chatham (still 60 nm). That way we avoid any feather rustling and solve some of the fuelling problems.
Anyone that wants to run up to the city is then on there own so to speak and we don't get assocaited with any problems.
.
But thats the best part

I believe they are trying for a speed limit between wandsworth and greenwich pier so yes below that shouldn't be an issue at all.
I'm not suggesting that we don't run down from wandsworth if we want to but for notification of organised rally, we could keep it as a start point of greenwich pier. That way we don't interfere with the consultation process that is going to occur.
Each individual boat has the right to traverse this area at speed if they so wish at the moment as I understand it.
See here
http://www.portoflondon.co.uk/displa...ge.cfm/id/2375
I'm a little concerned that we could rock the boat and give good reason for a speed limit to be imposed. That would go against a couple of members future potential plans.
I also want to leave ourselves in the position that we can make bloody sure that they hear our thoughts on imposing a totally unjustified recreational boat limit.
If on the other hand we want to go willy waving to make a statement then I will be right behind it
So give me your thoughts and we will go with the majority.

I'm with you there Mr Moto.
Lets not "rock the boat" but make a statment.
If we travel on mass through the area in question off the plane we'll make much more wash than on (willy waving)!
Posters stating our protest may also add fuel to the fire (they may also come in usefull if we run out of fuel on route)!
Power to the people, this is the revolution!
In all seriousness Mike it would be really good to see you there.
It might be a little bit of a challenge as you say coming round canvey point. It can rough up quite badly there dependant on wind / tide.
That said there are some larger cruisers doing it so 30 kts and you certainly won't be on your own so I say go for it. (will you fit on the swim platform of a squadron 55 if it gets too much )
The other alternative is to join us on one board one of ours and you would be more than welcome.
Thanks for the offer Mr Moto. ( is that the Motorvator from the London Brighton 1989 ?)
My plan is to launch from the bank at Putney ( is that a public launching place/ )and get the trailer taken to Gilly.
pootle on down to the meet up point and try to complete the course in one of my own contraptions !
Any other way would be cheating!
However in this case I would rather fancy another trip down the Thames and the kind offer of a ride would be most appreciated cheating or not.
Mike

Ok Guys roll call.
Chatham are getting booked out. I have reserved 30 places minimum but I need definites now. So if you want a mooring for the night of 22nd march speak up and let me know boat name, length and beam.
Doesn't matter if a couple drop out but I need to be a bit firm with Chatham to make sure we have enough space.
I'll post a formal itinery up as soon as Pash has had his say.

I've had my say, and its been decided to do away with me giving a demonstration of "Stunt Driving" on the Sunday
So the itinery is almost nearlly complete and its all go for the Thames Thrash or "demonstration of moderate public pleasure boating" what ever you want to say politically correct or not!
Am thinking of auctioning a seat on my boat to London Assembly Members for a grant from the " Black Offshore Lovies Located Off Chiswick, Kingston & Southend or "Bollocks" for short
might get an £18K grant

is the poker run still on / can you launch on the day / what is the situation on trailers / this might seem a daft question why doesnt the race start and finish at the same venue ie race halfway and back then on the second day from chatham halfway and back it would have made it a lot easyer for teams that have to travel a long way regaurds orgazm racing

Looks like its becoming increasingly more inaccessible to launch and retrieve on the day / arrange trailer transport etc.
That is without interference from the Newt Fancier not liking my daily working vehicle.
Is there somewhere Day Trippers can launch and join in with out too much hassle?
