How about a poll to see who's never crashed, flipped or barrel rolled while racing... I know a few people who's raced and most if not all have been out of the boat once and some getting on for double figures.

When you race your bike do you have a lean indicator to know where you are?
I'm interested in how you actually set the gauge as well. Do you wait until the boat is going over then say that's the position?

they cant just bar me from the event for my accident when others have done the same, there are laws against that!

I doubt it. Not sure we need a drawn out thread to answer the simple question you asked.
You can't expect the records club to take on a risk they're not happy with as it'll be them that has to patch up their reputation if it all turns to shit.
Why do you need to go to Coniston anyway? Why not run on the river and achieve your speed. You'll still know you did it (or didn't)
A non class cat doing the ton whilst not adhering to any rules isn't particularly noteworthy in it's own right.

Look, you posted asking if you'd be allowed. most have said that in their opinion, probably not. So your question has been answered. Or is it that you just want an argument and some attention?

First off don't even think about mentioning this weekend in this context.
Secondly, I'll have you know I look quite fetching in my green leotard.
Now those two are out of the way, all that people here are saying is that the coniston records are run for classes of raceboats and have to show a element of organisational ability or risk getting the lot stopped.
Have you ever raced the boat?
Now if you really think that you are the next Donald Campbell then organise your own record attempt.

Years ago i think you had to have been placed either 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a national or international event to be eligible to attempt a record, perhaps the reintroduction of that rule might go someway to sorting the problem.

if years ago you had to have a top3 finish in a race how did they allow mr campbell to do it as he never raced a boat did he??????????

Not since you were in nappies, but seeing as how we've reverted to insults I guess that could make me current

plus theres the fact theres a rescue boat there in case of emergency, not seen one on the wyre!to me its a similar event to a car sprit or bike sprint, you can do 180mh on the m6 but its not recored in any way and thats all im trying to do,cant you see that?the boat may be capable of 125mph but i wont be trying to hit that, thats not my intention

Jon,
With all respect but if everyone thinks the same there will be no coniston '09 anymore.
