You are mostly right Paul but it’s not just the weight of the engine it’s the paddle wheel effect of the prop on a RH box trying to walk up out the water as well as going forward that’s what makes...

Don't waste your time putting it on a 16ft Phantom as I know someone who put an old 175 Merc on a 16ft Ring and it was terrible and that's not as powerful

When we were circuit Racing we used to 24v the out side of the pump ( don't need it on the in side as the motor pushes it in) and run TQF or auto trans fluid rather than normal oil the pumps then...

Props are strange we used to run in F1 circuit racing and we had a box of 15 props of various diameters and pitch size 3 and 4 blade even some 4 blades that had two smaller blades and 2 larger...
