M5

Looks like Falmouth or Plymouth and then The M5 to Swansea, it's a shame they didn't carry on to Swansea yesterday. Bloody English summer.

Its a nice clear track isn't it?
I think its the same as the one we tried in Torquay last year, phone network based: Eric had it in his pocket and we saw him go into the ladies in the Royal Torbay !

I think Poole too - Harry tracked him on his ipad - couldn't believe the route the Taxi Driver took him back to his hotel!

Cookee's RB12 Venture

BananaShark just leaving Devon by road, en route to Swansea to tomorrow's Charity reception.

A very intelligent crew decision this morning, to return to Plymouth, as, although the Sevenstones lightship only indicated 2m seas, the Pembroke buoy showed 3-4 metres in a short pattern and 22kt winds. Not wise.

The principal remains the same for the whole itinerary, BananaShark will always be there for the kids and the charities, whatever the weather!

Spot Tracker reignited, even for the road trips, to appease the huge numbers of followers in both UK and Europe.

By the way, when you activate www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ there are only two boats in the whole world with 'Banana' on their name.

Thumbs up

A very sensible decision. It'd be madness to risk their lives plus others if they needed to be rescued. Thumbs up!

Just got off the phone with Cookee and Kitten, and they've asked me to let people know that a decision to abandon today’s leg was taken due to the weather and sea state.

After sticking the nose out of Newlyn Harbour this morning it was decided that there was no point in risking life and equipment at this early point in the challenge, this coupled with the fact that the winner of the forth chair was a no show, no pay!
The decision was taken to meet up with the support crew at Plymouth and trailer the boat to the start of the next leg.
I’m sure when John is able he will be along to give the full story on today’s events.

The second hard decision to make today was how long to leave you lot to your imaginations

Bloody shame that the weather is against.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next Friday, (even if you have to do a Cinzano RB 2008).

We have now made it to Troon ready for our trip to Fort William and the Caledonian Canal. We will spend the night on the Canal and arrive in Inverness on Tuesday to start the long journey South. The sun is shining and the wind is dropping so it's all good!

We'll be in Port Solent and although we can't guarantee what time we'll arrive we will do the presentations from 9am to 10am on the day of departure. Everyone is welcome to come and see the boat but priority must be given to the charity people and the Rotary people. We tend to be around a bit earlier so come and say hi.
