seems highly complicated......... Easily over my head, I would have had to just buy an off the shelf motor, bolted it in and turned the key.

Well, progress continues to be agonisingly slow. However, I've just bought a gantry crane to put the motor in, and the boat now lives at my house rather than in a barn/paddock elsewhere.

More interesting is that I've changed the drive - have sold the original bravo x-drive and hi-po transom assembly to Ace and replaced it with an ITS, later style XR and sportsmaster lower. An absolutely beautiful piece of kit. I would have fitted it this week, but a couple of parts that I need aren't in stock in the UK or Europe, so I'm having to wait for them to come over from the states.

Thanks Mange. Other things I've done - well, I got an old superspeed trailer which needed a little work. So now has completely new spars and has been shotblasted and galvanised and looks really smart. Will get the wheels repainted and also have new mudguards to go on it as well.

And a really minor thing, but I didn't want to drill in to the balsa in the pad to mount the bilge pump, so I made this bracket yesterday so it mounts onto the transom and there are no holes drilled, at all, in the balsa.
