don't have to be a member to book in
can recommend it though, rooms are better then any travel lodge and great food. most of the crews put weight on when they come for training

Race training
Would anyone be interested if we had powerboat race training available on Saturday 14th August during our race weekend?, this would be for people that already have RYA boating qualifications or a suitable boat handling CV, the training would be for anyone wishing to enter the club race, but we would also like to hear from anyone that requires marathon training, as that would be required to enter the Needle’s race.

Needles & Camden Races
Bob,
Have you got enough entries yet ?
Hopefully you do get a fair field for all your efforts.

To cancel or not to cancel, that’s the question!!!
The closing date for entries expires today, currently we only have a few entries so should be pulling the plug, but this will still cost us in the region of £1500 as we have already purchased the trophies, paid the RYA Insurance, UIM fee plus a few other fees, we would also need to try and cancel St John, security, toilets, security fencing, catering, crane and marina berths. In addition to this we would need to contact all the officials, safety boats and divers, and all of the above would need to try and cancel bookings for accommodation etc.
With all of the above in mind we are going to continue with this event in the hope that you the competitors will dust off your boats and come out and support our race, we will of course be holding a minutes silence during the race briefing for Ian, and a collection for the charity Ian supported at our prize giving.
Please don’t sit on the fence, please contact us by Wednesday 11th at the latest with your intention to race, if by then we still don’t have the amount of entries required to make this event viable we will have to consider pulling the plug on the whole event.

Needles & Camden Races
Let us hope that enough boats do enter & support these races - do it in memory of Ian, who surely would want the races to continue.
The Needles Trophy is a famous & long standing race - even in these both hard & sad days, don't let this race die for want of sufficient support !

Needles & Camden Races - 15/8/10
Happy to see e-mail from RMYC stating that races WILL go ahead this weekend, despite worries over number of entries.
Entry is still open - if anyone can race (Class 3/b upto Marathon, plus basic), they can still enter, I belive.

Its 11.30 on Sunday morning.
