V24 Powerboat club race
On 12-13 May, as part of the BASIC event being held in Wales with the Hotboats, the V24 Powerboat club intends to put on the first of a series of races.
There will be two races, both with prize money and trophies. First place per race will win £250, second place will win £150, third place will win £100, Forth place will win £85, fifth place will win £65 and sixth place will win £50.
The V24 Powerboat Club race is open to V24 Powerboats only, and will be run under the UIM V24 Rules 2008 with the exception of the standard propellor rule, which we can not implement in time. ( so the propellors will be free as per the 2007 UIM rules. )
Competitors must be a member of the V24 Powerboat Club. ( this should not be an issue, as membership is free for those who own a V24 powerboat, and £5 for those who race in one!
You are still able to compete for the prize money offered by Hotboats, and the entry fee will still be subsidised by £75 if you get your entries in by the 1st April 2007.
I dont think there will be a better deal for the V24's untill I get an international series running......

Shhhhh!
The V24 Powerboat Club is a RYA affiliated club. Just like ORDA for example.
So we have members and we can sign off racing licences etc. The club is small, with only 34 members, but we have members like Occe Mannefeld, who actually requested to become a member!
The club is trying to arrange a race (all by our selves) for the end of the season, that will be a BASIC for all boats, but we are learnig the process and it is very very very unclear and helpfullness in navigating red tape is non existant!

Well done. It would be great to see a good fleet of V24's racing again. The true concept of 1 class racing is what makes it such a spectical. If there is anything I can try and help you with get in touch. Good luck Mark.

What crap are you talking now?
This was discussed at a full committee meeting with every single person there. We wanted to see if we could entice a few V24's out of the shadows now that Gardner has his eight V24's locked up - out of sight and out of the water! There should be 5 more V24's which can compete.

OK, mud becoming clearer...
See: http://www.rya.org.uk/Activities/Pow...fshore/v24.htm
Cliff Smith and Terry Mills have apointed themselves V24 Club officials, and 'corrected' the RYA information to add their contact information to the RYA webpage.
Cliff Smith and Terry Mills are NOT club officials, nor are they committee members, nor are they even members of the V24 Powerboat Club. They were members in 2005. I have asked the RYA to remove this information from their website, as it is false and misleading.
Cliff Smith and Terry Mills have nothing to do with the V24 Powerboat Club.
( however, I have written to the RYA notifying them that I am chairman of ORDA and my ban from Guernsey has been recinded - If they can fall for it once, perhaps twice? )
