Wheeeee!!

There are 17 'intent to enter'! Which is more than I expected at this time!

I have the Start Boat, Committee Boat & one Safety boat confirmed and dusted. I am looking for another FOUR safety boats to be perfect, but another three boats would do.

Hopefully I can report confirmed entries on Monday in the post!

Now dont go taking the piss, I may have to ask them....
Actually, we do have an entry that is a rib! And it is a brand new beginner couple, for who this will be their second ever event.

We do not at this time have a routh weather course. This is actually due to the solent being mainly shpping lanes etc, and not knowing where to put the course.

HOWEVER - We think we have a possible solution - We have to take the risk assessments to the harbourmasters for their approvals. We will take this oppertunity to ask them to suggest a suitable area for a 'rough weather course'. Then - hopefully - the harbourmasters will provide us with a suitable location for setting up a course. I hope to have a course consisting of two seperate laps, to give some form of challenge to the navigessor.

Unlike the usual practice however - *IF* we can not run the race due to weather, we will refund the entry fee in full. I do not think it should be kept if the race did not take place, and the financial risk of this happening will be taken by the V24 Club.

At this time we have TEN entries. A few of those 17 who confirmed they would enter have actually sent in cheques and entry forms!

It is much harder to organise a race than you would first think!

A qualified navigator is one who can find has arse with either hand.
A certified navigator has knuckles that drag on the floor.

For this race I would guess a qualified navigator is one with two eyes who can walk and can sit in the boat without upsetting the driver too much.
