OK Chaos,
so it was a silly question

Goes back to an old saying "Sometimes its better to remain silent and be perceived as a fool rather than ask something and meerly confirm it"

Dont mention the whore....

Seriously. I want to go 105mph. Not 100. 105. At 100 there will be debate as to the accuracy of the speed and if in fact you did pass the ton. But at 105mph there is no longer any debate about *if* you passed the ton or not....

So I am always looking out for a monohull that will do 105mph or more.

( Monohulls are inherently dangerous or something.... )

not as such, the architect used a program to calculate approximate speeds with differing HP, the calculation @ 300hp was around the 80mph area. bearing in mind all the testing so far has been with the prop that came out the box with the motor, so looking forward to seeing results of other props and boat setup.

80mph with 300hp with fully kitted out boat? ie weight is more than the test craft?

What Hp required to get 105mph then?

the only difference with this boat is no back seat or upholstery and its an aramat layup.

I'd have to ask him to calculate that for ya.......

a good F2 ski boat (which Gav's is rigged for) will do approx 85mph the F1 twin rigs only go approx 95mph due to the extra weight and drag of the extra engine, plus the extra batterys trim pumps fuel etc. however they are more stable and flatten the wake better for the skier.
