Building by hand, utilising 500mm stations cnc cut should work as well as having the entire mould cnc cut?

How far wrong can you go between 500mm stations?

And the cost of full size cnc is simply stupid.

You could also get away with sections plotted life size on A0 paper sheets with joiners, stuck onto plywood, then hand cut. More work, but less cost.

Not saying I can do it, but saying that a suitably skilled person can easily do it, and I know such suitably skilled people.

We have some builders who go the way of full size sections printed off and then cut frame templates to suit. Sometimes we offset the frame dimensions to allow for the plug skin / surfacing thickness and make it even easier for them!

Also had some CNC prices that are very good - and if labour costs are high (i.e UK) it has been pretty competitive - but they are direct costs. Like anything have to shop around and have the work force with the expereince using the processes all the way through to production.

This is one method I have tried earlier. This method is cheap to use.
Make a 3 model of the concept.
Make model of all the parts in the plug.
Using a printer with roll feed, print out all the templates full scale.

Get a friend to cut out all the parts.
Glue it all together.
Stick some fiberglass on top-
And test. If it work as well as everyone hoped then it can be used as the bases for plug.
Although I have never tried it for a full scale boat one could make a temporary mould the same way.

That could be a blue thunder reference, or mebbe airworlf although you're a bit odd for airwolf (Airwolf was, of course, far superior, both in the film, and the real helicopter they used...but that's another discussion)

Funny you should say that - I received the drawings for the running surfaces nearly finished yesterday - a nice slim boat at 7' beam - great rough weather boat and shouldn't come out too heavy!

I'm sure you'll see something when they're finished!

The smaller 34" version is progressing well.
Here are some more renderings of 37" version to look at different color options.
