Jim,

Martin's only expecting one or two races a season so one pair of drives should do. He can't exactly change them halfway through CTC. Petrols should be kinder to them I guess but RB 2012 different story of course.

Those Sabres were only 1200lbs? That's surprised me, so he's only looking to save 250 - 300 kgs? Still a chunk of weight but not as much as I expected.

It was bad enough with the V8s! a horrid thing to work on.

Spent way too many hours hanging upside down in that engine bay, feeling like me head was gonna burst. especially the fwd engine, between the tanks.

Those Sabres were only 1200lbs?

I remembered I still have an old Sabre leaflet. The Marathons weighed 1820lbs plus drives.

Both boats we fitted with Marathons, we used ASD8 Arnesons to avoid the need for Speedmaster rebuilds.

Jeff, those specs don't appear to include the lock-up torque converters either, so add a good few lbs for them.

I too thought 1200lbs sounded very light, but didn't feel qualified to question. (1200 = 544 kilos. 1800 = 816 kilos) A BBC is IRO 400 kilos depending on spec.

Have just discussed delivery with he UK agent/distributer and they confirmed the price including VAT and Import Duty as being £15,672.00 at the current exchange rate..

The only down side is my props wont fit they have to be XR Hubs - whatever that is... but you can bet your bottom dollar they will be a small fortune

Delivery from the States is not too bad - 14 days but have requested delivery mid to late June

I've taken the liberty of forwarding that attachment to Chris Kaye who's shows up running at 124.24mph. I sure he'll remember the run!

Maybe not - I think that XR hubs are just standard fat shaft flow torque. The konrads could be a result as far as props go, you can now run bravos, maximus, etc - all the standard props.

Anyway, the old gant chart looks to be in the shit. Thank god ms-project lets you re-baseline.

Gant Chart still ok.......
Had to re-do the cash flow forecast but fixed the base line way back when....
Critical path went out of the window ages ago... but basically still ish in a roundabout way on programme..... Client extras excluded

Sowester used to be the agents for them, until they went tits up. A guy from Konrad did the rounds here a few years ago, met me at my shop in Poole, I believe David Sewell was with him. As far as I remember, his next stop was Crawfords, and I've always believed they took up the dealership, although I have been known to talk bollix!

Oops, got that wrong.. Just done a search on their website and the bad news is that the dealer is listed as EPS in Southampton.

Which means this project is already doubtfull!

That would have been in the Sowester Days.

Interestingly, Kurt Flachbart gave a glowing testimonial to the drives on OSO a few years ago, perhaps he did a Victor Kiamm, and liked the company so much he bought it!

The CEO is a guy called Ken Konrad, Kurt is the High Performance Sales Chappie, Now dont go telling me that the drives have to pick up a bowling ball as an acid test

Based on all Pash's findings, they look like a good drive for a good price. Will be v. interested to see how they run.
