Quite a difficult breeze in fact, difficult first lap but then the wind /tide change made a big difference.
Didn't hang around for the end but Rib thing with a cabin pushed hard by rib thing without cabin seemed to suit latter as things tailed off. The Supersport Chinese P1 always looked like something was going to break even though leading pushed by the other two until it dissapeared and something broke
CB put in a blinding first lap due to the conditions looked fekken wet ride though Then turned into a battle royal as another moved up to play
Marex & Seahorse org playing with each other the former seeming to get the edge as things smoothed off.
Bad boy was running nicely but was an obvious ski set up as opposed to offshore race but as I say was running well. Kids got bored by this point & off they went to play with a big pile of ice at the back of the BIC

Harbour Lights Balcony packed out with spectators
A couple showing an intresting Pre start beam sea
marex pulling out on seahorse
I had to use stealth to get the last one.... Indirect approach then fade away after

Great days racing, although didnt really enjoy watching would much prefer being out there with em!
Bad luck for Ian Stirling "Old Beardy" , engine a no go in the muster area
I think race boat of the day has to go to A30 in the 19ft phantom who came 2nd in F1 class, very impressive given the conditions!
Scottyboy needs to learn that his batboat has wings for other reasons than trying to reach for the sky! (3rd in class)
Great drive again from "Batteries not included"(CB & MB)
And me and lobbers managed to pick up a bit of silverware for 3rd overall in the 2006 club classic series
great day!

We had a great time but after the second lap where i nearly turned my boat over backwards on the head sea and had my navigator under water looking up (twice) the engine never ran right and i my trim got stuck in for the rest of the race! Not nice in a following sea especially with a bat boat hence why in the end we just thought we would try and finish! Thought i was def goin for a swim, took a last breath of air the lot! How we came back down i dont know?

thanks for that really enjoyed myself, thought trim went so stopped to sort it out, only indicator . . . so had to drive on feel of the boat, down 1/3 of a lap on unlimited boys, couldnt get that back. Will enjoyed it as my co pilot, Ians boat not ready yet, but they will be racing this season!

hi to all
great racing the weekend, was good to watch from shore.
looked like you all had some realy tricky conditions,
good to see the p1 boats out and honda boats.
talking of honda i watched as a honda 225 raceboat past a v24 and a 2litre cat on the flat in frout on every one on the pier, and beet every other 2litre boat out there, good on them.
great turn out good to see all the well set up boats finish.
great racing

Brass Monkey
Apologies for the start delay chaps (and chapess's), took BlueBird II to Poole Quay for some munchies and she wouldn't start again. Thanks to Jim and the crew of Flyte for the attempts to jump start, and the subsequent ride out for the race.
Now I know why it's called "Flyte", and the reason for trim tabs! When you're listening to silence for 2.5 seconds, while you are in mid-air, looking at the sky, you start to think "Why an I here?"! You guys that race in it... Big Respect.
Hi Cliff...
Big thanks to all at the RM for their help during and after the race.
Sympathy to the family of Faisal Al Omani who died at the weekend: http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayA...=powerboatrace
