Ah, now you are talking, the same model (Minster Heatwave) that came 5th in the 1984 RB. The Minster boys allowed myself and Bob Hunt to race that boat at the Needles and @ Cowes whilst they were on holiday! Great sea boat.. You are one lucky guy.

My folks raced the sister boat to that and it was called Everest For Ever, it was a very good sea boat and had a fair turn of speed!

I knew that Dorian, it could nearly touch 60mph! Your Mum hurt her back on the 1st leg!! Also raced against it during the rest of that year with that guy from the Volvo Dealership on the Thames driving it. They sprayed me completely in the Southern Speed race turning on a buoy! Cost your Dad a pint or two that did in the Royal Southern afterwards!! A proper gent your Dad. Happy days.

Pirates of the Solent!

There is to be a pre Xmas get together for all Pirates on Friday evening 14th November at 18.30 hours at a Pub called the Rose & Crown in Upper Farringdon GU34 3ED. It’s a nice village pub half way between Alton and Petersfield – see attached Map, nice and central as you can see.

You need to hear what Poker Rallies and other events we intend running next year. We need your thoughts and input on what we want to do!

Brian Pelham (Founding Member) is organising this get-together – the first of its kind - and needs to know numbers for the food he is organising. Please get back to him quickly on: brianpelham55@hotmail.com if you intend coming. It’s going to be a fun evening!!

We could well have some amazing news for you by then!

First nudge to you Pirates and anyone interested in next years Poker Rallies. If you really want these Rallies to take place you can't just sit on your backside and hope they will happen because if you take that attitude they won't. They take considerable effort to take place, so contact Brian NOW and tell him you and your mates are coming to this meeting. If you want some fun next year support us.

By the way, Powerboat Legend Johnny Caulcutt has just joined us and has sent his Founding Members Fee and so has RB08 competitor (& Pirate) Francis Whitely!
