Yes, we're on the case!

Nice looking diesel unit...dam you were telling the truth 3.2ltr maybe around 250hpx2 within the class rules...I must admit I had my doubts thought you may change class at the last moment if that's allowed within the rules of course

If it's all one piece I guess you can't blow a cylinder head gasket, what about expansion in unfortunate circumstances...must say looks very smart, it will be very interesting to see how they perform, and speeds attained...but like you say it's the long haul that counts and finishing every stage

Also I assume they are very light for diesel engines which will pay dividends in weight distribution, probably weighing in no more than a couple of small block petrol units, actual JF I think you have hit on a great practical engine package

just looking at the pic and saw the turbo exhaust goes through the prop. Just wondered on a turbo exhaust would you get more oomph if it went straight out the back?

I've got two petrol gale banks twin turbo small blocks from the early 80's in pieces and was going to re rig my scarab with exhausts directly through the transom if i don't sell it first.

I always wodered if i did this would i still have to keep the exhaust through the prop vented inside the boat? Or doesn't it matter?

Your boat looks great by the way. Any plans for your 28?

Also do these engines need a running in period?

Would that be on the first leg of the RB then or a very long boat trip as a sea trial?

It was always going to be tight, but I'm sure everyone on BM is routing for you and looking forwards to seeing this project line up on the start line in June.

Yes, some of the suppliers have been quite slow.

Would have been nice to have more that 6 weeks to completely rig a staggered twin diesel 32 footer, and fit the deck to boot. (and test / run it in) especially as for 3 of those weeks, I am / have been, away working.

It's frightening the hell out of us as there is still so much to do so I don't know how you & Nick will feel about this Jon but the Team Vilda web site says "34 days until Round Britain 2008 (June 21)". Bearing in mind you can take two days out of that for scrutineering in Gunwharf............. !!

Looks a lot like a pond JF has commissioned behind that truck, planted in the garden with a few water lilies it should be very pleasant over the summer months

Actually, I never muched like the look of ribs, but we can't all like the same thing. As for not being ready, I'm sure Gareth won't let you down, though having said that, we'll be in the water before you. chin up.
