Got a very good Rate
Already had the cash in the USA just waiting for the right boat/engines, deposited it in my friends bank when we were over there in the summer
$2.05/£

Out of interest, what bits of that old classic are you intending to use, other than the trailer?

Very Observant.... the Scarab is 30 foot the Planatec is 41 foot therefore the trailer is useless to me.... plus the planatec will weigh in at about 5.75 tonne and the scarab is alot less and the trailor is only a double axel...

The engines have 20hrs on them since a rebuild so I could use those

The steering could also be used... along with the fuel tanks possibly... the gear boxes hopefully.... not forgetting the hydraulics... then there are things like sea strainers, fuel pumps, exhausts, headers, etc etc

basically to me the sum of the parts out weighs the cost of the boat..

And when you have no sponsors, no rich relatives, 2 ex wives and 5 kids (all costing a fortune to support) no one to help and its just you doing the work with no knowledge of engineering or boat building just getting this project on the water will be a feat on its own.. let alone entering a race. I may well come last, but I might win.. surely its better to have fort and lost than never fort at all?

I could have left this boat (Double 2 Shirts) where it sat to rot, instead im giving it a go, trying to get her back on the water, I might well fail dismally but at least I could look in the mirror and say "I tried my best"

Err, that Panther hasn't got steering as such, and it doesn't have any gearboxes, or hydraulics.... and if I remember correctly, it has a single fuel tank under the cockpit floor.

Just to keep mrs p happy I'll start a dutch auction with Tony for the drives

I'm very interested in those headers too, they look a bit odd to say the least but I reckon I could make a few bob flogging them to these guys after a respray of course
