So the plan now to raise the front deck & fit in a twin berth & small galley & head. Just not quite a raw racer as is - needed some smooth edges & comfort added. Thats the plan, same time schedule & a few frames will need triming & a rework but nothing too major. Deck pod will be a ply shell covered in GRP for speed & easy construction, Bit like the old dry Martini Cigarette
SOUNDS MORE LIKE A BLOODY ABORTION TO ME>>>>>>>>>>>IMHO

Planatec Boats

Ok Marco I`ve taken the bait.Miss Embassy was first boat built in 1973,then YABO (Yet another bloody omelette) as a successor to Hot Omlette (Avenger 34).YABO delaminated in a South American race, and Tim Powell finally used it as `Breathless` for dayboat use.ABO followed YABO in 1974.Unoembassy being the sister plastic boat. Now we are back on the planatec track via Keith Schellenberg (Botany Bay Express was another of his mounts in RB69 - see Gallery). There are other similar hulls to the Planatec ones built under licence in Italy.

Double Two Shirts Revamp

It`s ironic, the moment an old racer is modified away from the original, the arms go up.I can`t remember any outcry with the way `Gee` has ended up.
More like glad to have it racing again.Even Surfury had berths and a bog on board.Didn`t you have a crapper on Black Tornado Tim,or was it a bucket.I should think a berth would have been handy for all those retirements you had.

Graham the only retirements were in the C/T/C and always back to Fairey's pronto !!!
I am also sure most "crappers" were for decoration ....or you wore nappies !!!!!!!

What hull was "Botany Bay"?

Jesus not only does it get Hi-Jacked but bastardised... good wind-up though John

Product Update: No Bog - No Bunks - No Raised Deck

No ABO !

No Body else wanted to take the risk on her so its up to me.... so it could be 2 oars & no whores (dohhhh)...

Having a serious rethink about the seating arrangement, not keen on bolsters - I dont stand up for the Queen so why should I do it in my boat! Had a quick peek at swipes and like the "Lorry Seating" setup.... If its good enought for Mr Fullers Piles then it will be good enough for mine when and if I get them

Went to Norstog today and picked up my gauges and gps speedo $600 for the lot or circa £300 in english folding - ordered 4 more fuel gauges another water pressure gauge, another fuel pressure gauge and another tacho $375 cash

There's more "Bling" over here than you can shake a stick at - Mrs Pash has surgically removed my debit card "OUCH"

oh and by the way its 116 degrees in the shade the babe's at fox's bar in the middle of the river at Parker are mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wish I was 20 yrs younger, 10 yrs wiser, and five yrs richer

Here the bait.
YABO! You don't speak about it in your list! South American race in 1974? You wrote ABO not YABO. No pic about it?
You spoke about Uno Embassy as a plastic sister boat of YABO(that delaminated),ABO,because they were on wood, composite?
In Italy were built some boats only as pleasure boats from the original mould of Planatec 40' in fiberglass from 1976 by Tecnomarine in Viareggio. One of them is still alive in Viareggio.

ABO v YABO

Testing my memory back over 30yrs Marco, the comics always spoke of ABO in the South American race and I think Yabo was a name that although talked about was perhaps not offically mentioned.Another quirky fact difficult to incorporate in any listing.Hot Omlette was core constructed, but for ABO the drawings indicated ply.I don`t have the data to relate back to the South American raced boat.Unoembassy was sister of ABO,if I have confused you.Unoembassy had the induction boxes. These were the rage as F1 cars had them,a la Graham Hill`s Embassy team.At the risk off going off at a tangent Tim,Botany Bay was a Whitehall Shipyard boat to a Schellenberg design I think.A lot of these characters came off the bobsleigh scene looking for another risky sport, which is why the offshore scene was so vibrant then, what with that and ex-fighter pilots adding to the sport.Jeffrey Quill,Max Aitken etc.I can feel a rollicking coming for going down the old fart route here, but so what.Better leave the site free for the D2S inventory list.

It seems that the election are ended.
By the way what is your party?
The nearly anonymous Double 2 Shirt or you are for the "historical" ABO or even YABO?

I'm with the old schoolers - ABO was the definitive livery in my opinion (shame the budget won't run to twin big block Kinsler injected motors!)

What a photo! If the boat was painted in the same livery and put into the same area as that photo, then there would be no change! gosh the background of east cowes has'nt changed one bit in my life time.

Hey Fish, have probably asked you this before - isn't that a young Tim Powell with Buchanan Michaelson?

Abo Crew

Nah,it`s neither of em Nige. The curly mop is the engineer (can`t think of his name),the other who knows, a relative maybe.TP was seconded to Unoembassy during which he had the fisheads thrown at him from the Shambles LV,for going too close on second lap round in Needles race.Buchanan Michaelson had Tony Mayes as his throttleman.I remember Tony was so gutted with retiring early in the CTC that he didn`t hang around for the finish,so by the time the winner crossed the finish line ,he was back home in front of the telly.
