I stand very corrected on my comment regarding "wrong motors". I never thought a pair of xr2's could last, but they certainly did (And I hear you ended up lending spares to other teams!). Very well done!

Buy Chris Davies a beer!
He has to hang out of that helicopter every day taking that stuff!
He also manages to send / receive text messages whilst doing it!

considering we blew 3 powerheads in testing in the couple weeks before the event we were rather pleased to get round on one pair too! A testament to Team engineer and driver Dave Myles who built them. We were considering blowing them on the way into port solent for a laugh but remembered that they are required for the worlds yet!

Sorry I dont know who built Julias midsection

Unfortunately Red_FPT was stopped before the start by the collision with a submerged barrier, generated by a mistake of the pace boat. All possible repairs was useless and Fabio Buzzi was obliged to retire even before the start!

WTF is a pace boat?

ciao: You have updated the website, but have not fixed the problem with the fastest RIB:

http://www.roundbritainrace.co.uk/trophies.htm
Cookies Bananashark Trophy for First RIB Venturer

As far as I know - no matter which way you count it, Venturer was not the first rib home or the fastest rib. Perhaps you should change the website till it gets sorted. That sort of thing is annoying.....

Perhaps one of these new to the market GM backed engines would be ideal for a re-power for some of those troublesome powerplants that some teams encountered around the Uk, the Banks engine company have been quite active in the USA with their GM based Diesel units think it may be the same block that powers JF 28 Phantom but with up to 550HP very nice
http://www.bankspower.com/miami-boat-show-2008.cfm
The 32 Phantom may go very well with these GM units new to the market and based possibly on the new Corvette ZR 1 engine light and packing a big punch would also give a V24 a big push towards the 100mph mark at 540HP 540 torque

Same motor, just different external bits. Who's to say Banks is any better.
