Cool.
Dean, can you please clarify how the Milford to Oban leg will work.
ie, will there be compulsory chunk of time added to the elapsed time for that leg for people to refuel, or is it just get there, and your actual elapsed time is your official time for the leg? I hope the latter.

I agree, I would think the latter would be the best way, it would be easy to monitor anyone speeding in harbours etc from the tracker log - it would then be up to people to work out which is faster - bigger fuel load to go the distance or refuel with a smaller fuel load?

I haven't spotted anything, but I have been told that something has changed, but it isn't in the update.

Don't know what you have been told Tony but the rules published on our web site are as is issued by UIM/RYA last year.
They look O.K. to me. If you have any doubt check out PB1.

That's ok then, Someone reckoned that Historic had been split into 2 separate classes, but now you've confirmed that it hasn't that's cool.
I thought it was a ridiculous idea, so I'm glad to hear it was bollix!

And this doesn't seem correct, as if the purpose of Historic is to run 25+ year old raceboats, then surely they wouldn't be expected to have run "mainstream production motors"??????
For example, something like Cinzano is old enough, but as far as I'm aware it always had something more exotic for power than say a pair of 330hp mercruisers...

Somehow the Historic rules for Marathon that have just been printed in the UIM handbook have changed from the ones that were submitted and, as far as the BPRC were concerned, agreed and published - so now, out of thin air, we have TWO Historic classes, an unlimited weight allowance, strange cc limits and the speed allowance of 50mph (average) has disappeared.
I give up, you couldn't make this up if you tried.

I agree, it's a little frustrating, especially when your putting a Historic boat together for a customer and the goalposts keep moving!
Unfortunately, I can't give up, and neither can the owner and his pal, as they already have quite a bit invested in the project!!!

We all want to see Warlord running again (and to hear it again) and obviously you started the work in good faith according to rules issued by the RYA. Can't wait to see it on the water once more.

I'm sure Mr Puddifoot will have an explanation being our representative on the UIM.

RB11 Starting Port
RB11 are planning to start and finish the race from Torquay.
Torquay has a rich heritage in powerboat racing with fantastic facilities for both the racers & spectators. We were there a couple of weeks ago for the ORDA weekend of racing and we recieved a warm welcome & were encouraged to bring RB11 to Torquay
We are meeting the Torquay authorities on 22nd June & will keep you all up to date with the arrangements.
RB11 will hold a launch at CTC and all are welcome, we will issue race 'packs' including finalised route/venues along with race entry forms
Subject to CTC timetable..... the current thinking is that the launch will be on the Saturday afternoon.
