Cinzano
Team Cinzano
is on the move to Ireland just now!
The boat has undergone a total refurbishment.
New paint, engines, piping, ...
But no testing so far.
Last work to be done on the ferry
It might even float on Sunday for first tests.
We do like to come to Ireland for running in the Engines and expect a lot of Fun with Justin and his Organisation of Events.
When Cinzano runs well, we are in a position to fight a lot with the Buzzi Rib or Johny C.. Johny will probably give us more fun on the venues, too.
At least a lot of humor will be in Ireland...
Speedwise: people that witnessed last years Poole Needles race know that we were fighting the Langdons every round and there is a good chance to have that again.
Still, I hope the weather will allow a good race and the Atlantik seas will not be to high for fast average riding.
Shame that we can not be at the Cancer Reaserch this Year, but as I sent the Silver of 2009 back in time, I hope we can win it back in 2011.
Hope to give occasional Reports to those interested.
Best Regards currently from Lyon Airport heading for home and straight up to Dublin tomorrow morning...
Markus Hendricks

Unfortunately a lot different to the 645 2008s we had before.
Virtualy everything in the engineroom had to be changed.
Well, then despite tuning Cinzano with faster bilge pumps to prevent RB08 recalls, it was a lot of Peter Unwins top notch hydraulic toys making most improvements in the technical department.
New wardrobe by Alexseal Respray gave another bit of troubel but really looks as new!!

I'm just watching the Tracker system in Ireland seeing a convoy of vessels including Cinzano hacking along between Dublin and Galway at speeds of 66 and 86 knots . A Road race too ?

Enjoyed watching the tracking system from my desk this morning.
Well done to Team Cinzano!
Not bad for a completely re-engineered boat that had no testing.

Markus was obviously keen to get to Killybegs for the Farmers market and the Face painting !!
From the event Programme :
Killybegs Xtreme
Killybegs will leap into life with a variety of entertainment throughout the town. Farmers markets and festival stalls will line the streets with amusements and face-painters will be on-hand to entertain the whole family. On-water racing displays and safety demonstrations can be viewed during the day from the harbour, and a host of talent will animate the town's bars as they kick up a storm on the 7th of June for the Around Ireland Offshore Powerboat Stopover.

I would assume that Marcus decided he didn't need a big lead on day one and given the lack of testing was driving looking back over his shoulder keeping ahead of the opposition!
After some wayward navigation Tom and Enda in Drew's Buzzi seemed to be doing over 40 knots without moving so I'm guessing they either had a faulty tracker or something a bit more serious - they didn't feature in the results anyway! Some of the other tracks were a bit interesting as well.
