Surely that's too much work to build just a couple of boats?

It's a spray on 2 part filler used for building up and flatting back the surfaces of the plug to iron out any imperfections. first coat is a soft, easy sand layer, the second (dark grey) is a harder layer, that polishes up to a perfect finish, ready for waxing & laying the mould up on.

Troels, hi.
No, the build schedule is very different to 'Warlord'.
A full balsa core construction using Aramat is the order of the day. Steve Baker has been working with us on the laminating schedule and hull modifications, so we're hoping for a light, stiff, capable race boat.
I wouldn't expect it to be any lighter than 'Warlord', but reckon it'll be in a different league as far as strength & stiffness.

Their is now talk on the American forums of a 350/400hp Verado or a 350 OPTI for Jan 08, two of those hung of the rear end would be interesting...another possibility perhaps is a bit of reworking on the 350 units in Leviathan up to 400 each and refit them in Warlord 2, as one would assume when this new boat hits the water all time afloat would be spent in this one getting it all set up for the various weather conditions it may encounter in RB08 so an engineless Leviathan would not be of concern and could make it an easier sale after the 08 race should this be the direction to take, although both these options would no doubt enter it in another class ( just thinking out aloud JF please don't take offence )

COAL you've let it slip now, so JF plans to be the first steam driven boat home

Cunning plan- about 1/4 hp - at £10 / hp makes their entry fee about £2.50

There were many engines very suitable for your challenge JF sat around my boat last year and although they kick out a fair HP they probably will run on chip fat, and I was told they were reasonably reliable, I did enquire as to what happened to them when they got sold off...but did not really get a proper answer

Haven't spoken to Simon for a few months now. He's very keen to come out & have a run when it's all done.
Nearly ready for the wax.
