No - That's Gino the Belgian fireman who races P1 or Grand Prix of the Sea as it's known now - he was on the Red Sea Rally and in Malta as well - he races with Siggy the German in "Searex".

Cookee I read somewhere when someone asked you about your placing in the CTC you said it didn't help the boat being pretty slow ... just wondered why the boat was so slow (not your driving ) as I recall before it was fitted out I was very surprised to read that speeds in the mid/late 80's had been quoted with the original Sabers and when petrol engines were installed speeds in the 90's were on the cards but clearly this never happened so what HP did end up in the boat to lead it with a speed of 70mph quoted in the for sale thread
Sorry to drag you away from polishing that new boat as time is running out for Weymouth

It's capable of 70mph, but we had issues with losing oil via the sump plug and a gearbox that was hppier in neutral! We were just gong for a finish but we were a bit too slow for that!

1990 KENT KOI (2 x Ford Sabre = 1200 hp)
2010 GARMIN (2 x Chief =1000 hp)
With lighter petrols and 200 less hp,to be 70 mph seems a bit conservative.

I was led to believe they were two X 500's? 2000hp would have made it easily the most powerful boat in B class.

Thanks Cookee and FF for the reply I guess that's why I asked the question I couldn't figure why they re-built the boat with what I had assumed must be engines of 450ish hp to gainer a speed of only 70mph ... but FF as you say if they are 500hp then with the big saving in weight one would of thought perhaps mid 70's at least would have been achievable

Graham means 500 each cookee, and 600 each for the Sabre diesels.

Ok got it now! I think it needs some change of props as well - not anywhere near the rev limiter!
