Unhappy

I am curious...hav'nt been on the forum for a while but why has'nt Dean entered the awesome Dragon (ex Arpro)?

That boat should be a very serious contender, has he not got on with her? Such a terrible shame if thats the case, she deserves another run.

Yup, such a competitive boat, proved itself, owes nothing to no one and now sat around doing nothing and its been pillaged as well!

The crowds would have loved to see her at Cowes as well, she had a big fan base!

I hope the next owner goes out and proves to everyone once again what an amazing boat she is, I will raise a glass to that day

HI Matt

Yep we are sadly. Doing different things now which include 1 horsepower and four legs (for me P1 left a very sour taste, so I changed sports completely, horses are not quite so exhilarating but nowhere near as expensive or dare I say it...political ) and Mike's keeping himself very busy doing other stuff. We still lurk on here occasionally You never know, we may buy a jetski each one day and come and annoy you all!

We are desperately sad not to leave the legacy of the Dragon racing though.

Good luck to everyone for CTC

No engines in either.

The bare engine bay still looks imaculate mind.

Fountain is back

Thought that I would let you all know that the ARPRO drives have found a new home on the fountain along with the gearboxes/trim pumps & helm unit

The XR's would not handle the power being dropped in for Cowes

Tested it today & no water came in.... Lol..... speed test tomorrow ready for harwich to check the balance... as the engines have moved forward 18 inches

Was breaking ARPRO for bits but have now ordered the part to rebuild it ASAP with the XR's & will still be a great boat....

Bohinc To Race In Cowes Torquay Cowes

Hannes Bohinc, the Austrian world powerboat champion, will aim to become only the fourth man in history to win the Cowes Torquay Cowes three times when his Wettpunkt.com team lines up for one of the world’s great endurance challenges over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Bohinc will compete alongside fellow Austrian Max Holzfeind and distinguished English navigator Ed Williams-Hawkes in two races at the 2010 British Powerboat Festival as the experienced crew attempt to secure the coveted Harmsworth Trophy.

The solid bronze sculpture, powerboating’s equivalent of the America ’s Cup, was commissioned in 1903 by Sir Alfred Harmsworth, then proprietor of the Daily Mail. It remains highly prized by powerboating’s elite endurance racers.

“ Cowes is the home of powerboating and I always feel privileged to race there,” said Bohinc, team owner and throttleman, Wettpunkt.com. “The Harmsworth Trophy will add to the occasion and increase the competitive edge of this very special event.”

Bohinc will compete in Wettpunkt.com, an FB RIB 39, powered by twin FPT 560hp diesel engines. Though not the fastest boat in the British-dominated field, it is in the hands of one of the world’s most formidable crews and, in the notoriously difficult waters off the South Coast, outright speed is often less important than reliability and good seamanship.

The first race of the 2010 British Powerboat Festival, the Cowes 100, takes place on Friday 27 August with the 50th running of the Cowes Torquay Cowes scheduled to start at 10am on Sunday 29th.
