It can still do 80mph though on three engines.

RB08 Fuel Payments

TO ALL RB08 COMPETITORS.

If you haven't paid for your fuel, as per your requests, by last thing Monday 19th then you will not be supplied with fuel at Milford Haven, Oban, Inverness, Edinbugh and Lowestoft which will be VERY embarassing for you.
We are not going to subsidise you on your fuel just because you can't be bothered to post your cheque.. NO CASH NO SPLASH, it's as simple as that.
Phone us with your Credit Card details.

Team Vilda

We have added Titti Schultz as a fourth member of the crew and she is, in her own words:

"A keen boatsperson in her own time when she is not hosting the most popular morningshow on Swedish Radio, RixmorningZoo. Has also lived close to four years in England and absolutely love the UK and can´t wait to get the opportunity to see the country from the water…!" http://www.rixfm.com/?underpage=381.25096

Titti will broadcast live every day from the race via mobile or satphone.

We are leaving Stockholm, by boat of course, on June 14 and the plan is to arrive in Portsmouth on June 17.
It is a 1000 NM trip so it will depend a bit on the weather.

The boat is working fine and the cruising speed is 70 mph with full tanks (1100 liter) at this moment.
We hope to find another 5 mph with further modifications to the drives and propellers.

I agree.
So exciting, and all I am doing is sponsoring Team Bandit !

Lets hope it is a huge success and is repeated in the not too distant future, so that next time I can enter it myself.

Only Joking...I think people/companys coming forward to sponsor boats is the only way forward to get racing up and going with any great numbers hitting the start line in the UK...hopefully like the last RB in 84 it seemed to kick the UK into a some great years only ending in the early 90's recession

Think it is more important that people like Mike Lloyd do what they do, take a risk & put themselves out massively. Certainly spread a huge amount of interest amongst the boating and non boating crowd. Glad it is being so well supported - if only someone with serious bucks had sponsored the overall race - the publicity would have only increased.

Fabio Buzzi Quote

Fabio Buzzi has said of the RB08 "…. This event has all the hallmarks of a classic endurance adventure and is not bogged-down by politics or unrealistic measures of power output. It will be a true test of man-and-machine against the elements……”

He sums it all up really.

Did'nt the BBC cover the one in 1984? Surely with 2 high profile presenters from the BBC taking part this would be televised, that in itself would be enough.

I've got my t shirt sorted!!!!
