I think ya better qualify that, because an outsider reading your post could infer you mean mike has been lining his own pocket with the entry fees - which is obviously not the case.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions - last update from the marinetrack GPS on swipewipes.co.uk was at 07:30 -against just minutes ago on some of the other lead race boats.

Send a message via Skype™ to ciao!
Despite having to transport their boats overland from Plymouth to Milford Haven, enthusiasm remains high amongst the fleet competing in the 2008 Round Britain Race.
Severe seas off the North Cornish coast and Southern Irish Sea that forced the organisers to cancel the second leg on Sunday eased overnight leaving moderate conditions for the run to Bangor NI.
Boats were launched in the early hours in readiness for the new starting time of 11.am.
Early indications are that Italian ace Fabio Buzzi aboard the 3,500hp Red FPT is up amonst the leaders despite suffering serious damage during the Portsmouth start.
Other causalities of the opening leg included Austrian Hannes Bohinc aboard Wettpunkt.com who entered Torquay on Saturday with mechanical problems.
Both these competitors were fronting the third leg at 12.30pm.
Indications via Marine Track show Red FPT travelling in excess of 100mph with the Austrian running a little faster at 106mph!

Indcations via Marine Track show "My Pleasure" travelling at 70kts (80.5mph).

This is obviously impossible - I know Gordon's boat well and it's top speed is about 40-42kts!

Similarly, other boats top speeds are shown to be far in excess of what they are capable of - much like the daft road speeds shown yesterday

The algorithm used by Marine Track to calculate speeds is clearly flawed.

I was just going to post something similar. I don't imagine that 'Going Lean' is making 81kts. 61 I might believe but 81 is just plain wrong. Perhaps it's actually in Kilometres/hr!

The last report from their tracker is around 07.30 when it appears to have stopped working. I'm pretty confident that they made the start today.

If Marinetrack is to be believed it looks like FPT Blue is putting into Dublin for a spot of lunch!

RB web site says "Early indications are that Italian ace Fabio Buzzi aboard the 3,500hp Red FPT is up amonst the leaders despite suffering serious damage during the Portsmouth start." Must have been very early indications because as of 12.00GMT FPT Red doesn't seem to have cleared Milford Haven . . .

Mr Mako #96 Pascoe RIB with Jamie Edwards & John Lindsay appears to be leading.
