Paint the ladies arse yellow
Seat pods or what ever is the right term for arseless seats -- done --prepping up the ladies derrier this weekend, with a view to going yellow (thanks Gazza) next weekend, weather and crane at Drivers willing, can it be hung overnight? --how fast does this paint dry to solid GazzA?-as in put the boat back on its trailer.
Anybody else want new pods made -- have saw will travel!! -- for the right price
Double Two Shirts is dangrously close to getting its toe back in the water -- just needs a couple more people to pull their finger out --personal opinion of course.
end of progress report

Mark started the process of rubbing down yesterday ready for the new yellow paint to the hull and guess what we found?..... the Old Yellow paint on the hull Nice British Rail boiler suit Mark !
Now here's the thought process....... rub the white off and buff up the yellow - save a few quid Only Joking we have the paint courtessy of Gazza so we might as well use it
Trim Tab Pumps and Trim Pumps on (only hand tight) and wired in, trim Tabs back from having been shot blasted and 2 pack applied and I must say they look good have temp fixed them to the boat with some 2 inch wire nails to keep Jon happy
Seats all finished and epoxied and glassed etc etc just waiting on the Upholstery chap to come up with a reasonable price.
Getting near to completion had Mike from Konrad on the phone today drives are ready for shipping bank account another £9K lighter petrol tanks went into production today (Bank account anither £1500 lighter) deposit paid....

I never know when your banned from here,
If your hiring a King Graco or Graco Extreme unit, i'll bring a new gun and tip when I'm down in Drivers on Saturday morning.
(I'll need the gun back when your finished)

Mart,
try M J Marine Trimmers for upholstery price, He's doing the sunny total external this week for stupid money and one days notice as he's short of work for the 18 blokes he employs. Does the oem for Fairline so is top quality. Mentioned you and he said he'd be interested.

I now have almost the entire collection of excuses for non progress - Still waiting for "we haven’t fitted the engines because my water tank burst last night" , "Tony Hamilton has been struck down with Swine Flu" and "Due to the recession we are only working a 3 day week - and that’s on someone else’s boat" then I have the full set
On a brighter note, hopefully the rubbing down of the hull will be complete this week, and hopefully I will be collecting the new fuel tanks from Cornwall this weekend
Apart from that No, nothing to report :rolleyes

About time you told 'em to feck off and got someone one on the job who actually wants the work! How about John Ridd, he's based at Drivers and knows what he's doing? Just a thought.

Andy and Tony are doing a good job and the proof of the pudding will be in the eating when she is in the water all the progress is behind the scenes at the moment and is coming together well

In who's eyes, seems a tand slow to me,
(of course you'll only be paying for time once the jobs complete and you have the C of C)
I've seen houses being built quicker!
You need to kick Ass Pash

Quoted for the purpose of ripping the piss out of you when you fail to meet the completion date. Would it make it easier if there were some sort of incentive?
Say liquidated damages determined upon demonstrable loss by the first client booking on the 24th (That'd be ME and the old school) underwritten with a typical domestic contract like the ones you used to try and stitch me up wiv.
|
Now I'm not one for dissing me mates or anything........ BUT...
We have received no formal notification of application for extension of time as a result of force majeure or similar, nor any notification that the minor design variations will impact the final project delivery.
It seems that you are utilising the somewhat rare claim that your own domestic sub contractors are totally responsible for the overrun. I would remind you in this instance that recommendation of said sub contractors be it on this forum or elsewhere does not constitute novation and that therefore overall responsibility lies with yourself as project manager.
We would therefore urge your presentation of a further programme to completion in order that amicable agreement can be reached and also, more importantly, your personal assurance that regular updates are provided in order that the pisstaking can continue in it's previous vain.

To be honest Kerry, I’ve just had enough of vitriolic piss taking on this Site especially from those who should know better, BluFin and myself have been called everything from Pot Chasers to Barstool Racers, Rules have been changed to exclude boats like ours from entering the historic class where they belong, and the build quality has been questioned many times by Mr Fuller as to has design, Parts, etc etc and last week I was at the stage of calling the entire project off, even Sarah has been the subject of ridicule, which she does not deserve. I don’t mind banter but Mr Fuller has taken that to an entire new height. Fun I don’t mind friendly piss taking I don’t mind, but nasty, snide, malicious comments I take offence to.
So lads have your fun, the boat may or may not be ready for the poker run and may or may not be entering the C-T-C. She will be what she will be and if anybody has a problem with that then hey, I don’t care. Rescue a classic historic boat yourselves lads in a recession, fork out the best side of £30K in cash or to put it even blunter put up or shut up!
