Just received this, name witheld
Hello Martin,
We have never met, and I have only posted a couple of times. However, I just wanted to say, that I have enjoyed reading the thread on the D2S re-build.
Having built several rally cars in my dim and distant past, it aint easy when you are trying to a great job on a budget.
Dont let the doubters get you down. Jealousy takes many forms.
Good luck with the final push to get your boat sorted, and thank you for keeping us up to date with progress.
Looking forward to seeing her do the business at the c-t-c and making a few of the "experts" look a bit daft.
All the best and good luck.

milestone achieved
No doubt Pash1 will be along with some pictures shortly.
It has been a pleasure meeting some of you folks over the last week at Drivers - and hearing the positive comments, which have been passed on.
I should be there most of next week, so feel free to come down and see the change.
To those doubters -- your backing the wrong horse boys, outsiders come in more often than favorites.
Any one else doing the poker run to keep us company?
And a big to the folks that bought the red 26 Konrad --took it out for a run , puppy on board also with a reported 80mph -- dog was not impressed apparently.

A Good Weekend
What a fantastic weekend and a mile stone nearly reached, Mark finished rubbing the hull down saturday morning and then she went into Gills Hanger - the boat only just fitted with about 3 inches to spare to the roller shutter. Then we cornered the market in Maskng Tape, brown paper and polythene and went to work masking her up........ finished masking at 4pm this afternoon and putting a tent around her and covering Gills offices in Polythene. Mike turned up and got stuck in soon through the yellow fog he was hardly visable - 6 coats of paint later he imerged and said "What do you think" - Ive got to say people have said mike is the best and they are not wrong the hull is SOOOOOOOOOO shiny and looks fantastic - better than I could have deamed of I was and still am grinning like a Cheshire Cat
Mike decided to leave the superstructure until tomorrow night as he is going to apply two coats of white base coat before 3 to four coats of the Yellow as it will give a better finish - more progress pictures tomorrow night.
Just like to say a Massive thanks to Mark (aka Budweiser) for all of the hard work he's put into the boat over the last two weeks and to Mike for makeing me a VERY HAPPY CHAPPIE and doing such a fantastic job - Thanks Lads from the bottom of my heart

She should be out in the open tomorrow - will get Mark to take some better pictures then, she will look awsome and for some reason the hull being painted makes her look even bigger than before - just the mind playing tricks I know but it does look bigger

Despite all the relentless piss taking that we all do - well done, she's looking good. Looking forward to seeing the finished article next weekend...

Good Old Ral 1023
Did it go on ok,
My only worry for you guys was keeping it wetted up enough so not to get any dry edges as it tends to flash off quick,
On the phone to Scott yesterday and apart from hearing Wishfull trying to get up on the plane in the background he said to was quite warm.

Looking Very Good!
Didn't a similar hull leave Drivers today for a paint job?
