My thoughts & hopes exactly, dont ya just love boats
Think the button must be broke, I'll change it when I lift the enging in a couple of weeks.
I'm happy to settle for just 3mph more thats all I'm really intrested in. Leave the big numbers for younger men that really want it more than I

It would be nice to at least see the 'ton'.
Remember, with a 260EFI one of those 27's ran a 109 best one way on Windermere and that wasn't a Midas, twoz a GW (I think they were a bit heavier.)

Try http://www.mybayliner.co.uk/boatmad/midas.wmv
I think any weight saving between the Midas & the GW might be offset by the Human bow tank. 2009 I want to try some different style props as I'm using my old thoughts and things have come a long way in recent years, see what funds are available
"EH....What...... Yeh.......Eh" glad we got that cleared up ??

Thanks John for the run out in the Midas yesterday, totally unexpected just passing Drivers came in for chat suddenly i'm out in Southampton water doing 90mph,
Is it true you only use the mask in the park at night and making bank withdrawals?
I've got some photos i'll post in a wee while as the camara is still in the car somewhere got home late as i had to pick a trailer up in Liverpool last night,
If you try roofer i'm sure he has Yam props,
I was very suprised on how smooth the the Midas runs up at that speed
Good see the rest of you guys and see you all at the Brass Monkey,

I've got that track!
It was recorded from Kenny Everets radio show's section ' The Worlds Worst Records' a million years ago. priceless, as are the others from the show.

Midas
Double 'M' Music - what a boat
I remember seeing it when it rolled into town ('97 worlds in Guernsey) and being stunned at how gorgeous it was.
and it looks even better now - you have done a great job restoring it, well done!
Would you consider racing her in 3C this season?

I'd need to drop on a 200XS Powerhead & 20" O/Mid and thats not really in the plans.......
To Do list
I've got MiddleFin & LittleFin chomping on Formula Future (Ex K Class) which would mean little 12 footers to do & get ready if they run with it.
Midas to touch up & repaint with a few changes, want to take it to the ton before I make any call on it.
D2S when things get a little closer ready for the C-T-C maybe more see how it goes.
That said If Allhallows will have me & Pash in April I will give it a shot, so you can all take the piss.
MrsFin thinking where the f*&k is Hubby Fin every weekend

Well got the Midas back home ready for the few little jobs & changes. Paint suffered quite badly on the stby side, port was Ok with no problems, turned out to be a condensation issue from the sponson fitted feeder fuel tank which caused things to sweat a bit. I’ve come up with a breathing vent for the hatch cover that should sort that for next year & keep thing dry will also hook up to a dehumidifier as well. Looks a bit like that air scrubber off the Apollo 13 movie.
Previous inset repair didn’t wear as well as expected found out that was just resin so have cut that out & there is a nice hole in the side. Inside stiffer/doubler is fine for this year so will just graft in a small inset with epoxy & do a full one at end of the 2009 season. Hopefully will get on it next weekend for a day to prep up the side, new full tent arriving this week so I can keep it dry ready for paint. Allhallows entry is in the post so need to keep it moving forward, Will be ready but worse way it will be primer. I’ll need to fit in a good testing day before to see how the changes have affected things.

Most of the paint off in the pic real life all off and ready go give a quick epoxy over today to seal. Repair done. so just need to dry for a few days to sand & get into primer.

Side is all in primer with the finish fill on the top to nib down, one more coat then the topcoats to do.
Engine has gone up 1.5 ". I could use the lifter but I hate running the thing more than halfway extended. It will be prop dependant but only up 1.5 - 2.00" on the lifter now as opposed to 4" previously.
Replace the deck hatch fitting on the pod as it was pretty unuseable with the 4" one for access. so can get all the odds packed away in it now, Anchor, Ropes, chain, flares ,first aid kit, prety much all less the fire Extinguisher which is now up on the co-driver bulkhead. Readjusted the lift & trim indicators & finally go round to setting up a neutral trim position which was long overdue. Got some lifting eyes machined to pick up on the bottom 2 studs of the jackplate these will hold the rubber bungee. I wont get time to do all the paintwork at the moment so will live with the other faults till after the 26th. Decal guy going to work this week on some numbers & if he gets time so accents for the sides. Midweek test for the 22nd will move forward to the 18th I reckon. Get close to being back on the water.
