Don't they have colours for war priority (Black, Red, run like hell) etc, It's some 40 years since I was in the RAF so I can't remember?

Well, you're half right there, the bow wave would be a problem for both spectators on and off the sea and you guys alike, the other problem is that we want to start the race as the other two RB races did, muster off the Fort south west of the submarine barrier at Portsmouth, run down towards Southsea Pier where you do a hard left on a buoy 150 yards off and then down to the start line off Southsea Castle. I can't see a Frigate turning within that space at 35 knots but I will be asking them that question. It sure would look good anyway, in fact spectacular would be the word I think and we are very grateful to them for their offer. ML.

Unfortunately no petrol charged engines in RB2 and not long enough for RB1 so without a re-engine would be a no go - Shame - Ive looked at a few US sourced boats in the last few months - cheap fuel and an addiction to some fatastically engineered supercharged engines leaves them outside the rules for the RB

You have to think about the conditions in our race compared to Miami. I visited Milford Haven last Friday to discuss our coming. There was horizontal rain with a force six on the nose and that's July. Spume streaking off the waves and you are about to go to Northern Ireland? I gulped and got back in the car thinking you would have to go in those conditions on race day. I don't think supercharged engines built for lovely sunny days with flat seas is the sort of boat you want for the RB08!

Mike, I'm with you - A hull design that can handle rougher water at a decent pace, and small cockpit to avoid being swamped (If I was in a rib I would think about decking it after seeing the red sea footage!), and reliability are the key factors to doing well - power and absolute top speed while nice to have wont be a determining factor. My point was there are in fact some absolute bargains to be had in the states (after looking at a few), but most would need re-powering for the very reason you stated, and they start to lose the cost effectiveness once you have paid HMRC the 22.5% and paid 10K+ dollars to transport - and then have to start thinking about a pair engines when it arrives.

This one looks cheap, the engine alone sounds not bad for the price...although I have not checked to see if it fits into any class http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...40680020QQrdZ1

Very nice for £10,000. Don't think the fuel tank would be legal and it would just about get you to Bournemouth!

I seem to remember in the dim and distance past that you were supposed to have a bulkhead between fuel tanks and the engines, or is that supposed to be O.K. nowadays? You're a manufacturer Tony, please enlighten me.
