We wouldn't have won the leg, as it was flatish (perfect for the fragile ribs of goldfish & pascoe) but at least we wouldn't have been an hour behind.

Having a valid interest in Team Garmin I was wondering if they are still in the field (or should that be the water) for the race?

My friends and myself have a small wager on them finishing, I say they won't, my mates say they will.

Incidentally, is the long haired hippy on board still, or has he yet to join them?

It looks like they allocate a maximum time for retired, and a different (higher) maximum time for non-starters. Eg Milford to Bangor RTD got 13:03:00 and NS got 14:03:00

The rules are here: http://www.roundbritainrace.co.uk/rules.htm but they don't appear to give any maximum time allowance to qualify as a finisher on a leg.

Irrispective of positions what a great effort so far from TFO & My Pleasure II
Two teams that have done all the hard graft & good race prep. there are more but these are worth noting

In my very humble opinion we need someone with a backbone, and possibly a brain. The man appears to be missing a backbone most of the time and a brain quite often. And yes I may have confused the boats, and jumped at the oppertunity to slate him, but he brings out that reaction in me. My appologies.

I still think that the person who runs powerboat racing needs as a minimum requirement not to take part in racing, nor run a team that takes part in racing. And a backbone.

Any you and Louise need to change avatar! You already got Tim gender-changing the two of you.

I could not find anything in the rules boat the allocated time either…but no top of each results sheet:
Race Leg 1 - Portsmouth to Plymouth - Time allowance: 6 hrs 30 mins
Race Leg 3 - Milford Haven to Bangor - Time allowance: 10 hrs 03 mins
Race Leg 4 - Bangor to Oban - Time allowance: 5 hrs 39 mins
I am still not clear about the time implications if you go over this time.

The time penalty for not completing is different of each leg:
Leg 1: 13:03:00
Leg 3: 09:00:00
Leg 4: 09:39:00

So en assumed average speed of:
Leg 1: 15.4 knots
Leg 3: 13.7 knots
Leg 4: 11.7 knots
Can anyone clarify this?

Nice work Rocket your dead write about anything can change looking at your tables any breakdown or non starter would put you from a front runner in your class to a back runner so doing well over the next 4 legs is imperative hopefully team Swipewipes have fixed the damper problem

Is there no comeback on Ilmore for 558 engine problems or is it self inflicted, if you purchased a new Viper with engine problems you would want a replacement ASAP

Nothing deceptive about my name! I can show you my birth certificate if you like!

Ice Kiddie has a bit of history - at one point Richard was registered here as Dickie (can't remember why). Ice Kid is an anagram of Dickie and seemed quite apt as our boat is called Blue Ice. He then became Ice Kiddie. Just to prevent any future confusion, Ice Kiddie is also Richard B on RIBnet (but not RichardB!). I am just plain Louise on RIBnet.

So to summarise:

Ice Kiddie = Richard B
Louise = Louise

All clear now?

Anyway, back to the race. Is the engine fixed now Jon? All the best for the remaining legs and don't forget: Noli nothis permittere te terere!
