Looks great - have you re-kindled your love of power-boats now Jon ?
You said you'd lost it earlier this year, but I think it may have returned
now !

What happened to the cougar / Curtis rib?? It was the first boat back and seemed to be coming in at speed. We thought it had won but I guess they must have had problems and retired.

From what i hear today steve curtis had an intermittant electrical fault. Some thing to do with a rigging tube. Thats all i know some one may be able to shed a bit more light on it. Came through Portland really well though. Very impressed. Shame she let steve and the team down. All the best for next year i am sure your be there.

I didn't stop enjoying the racing / competitive side, it's the pleasure boating that's really lost it for me. Too dear, too much aggro, crap weather.

i've been told, and this is gossip, that it didn't start from cowes because they couldn't get the list of safety boats and driver together quick enough, shame really!

What right does the Course Approvals Committee have to assess the competency of volunteer safety & rescue crews? Are the experienced Safety Officers and Team suddenly not good enough to manage the Safety fleet, with regard to their experience and capabilty?

Heh. I'm with you. But flogging a dead horse is swimming around in my head. It never supprises me any more. Who would think you would have to apply to a commitee run an international race of over 2000k when most of it is in international waters and you're on your own as soon as you leave the start line. Except for the jollies that is. Priceless!

Cinzano
Once again it gives us great pleasure to congratulate club member Markus, Eric and Simon on their magnificent win on Sunday.
Cinzano must rate as one of the all time greats in powerboat racing! all down to perfect teamwork and a credit to all the team.
Best regards to all

CTC From Hurst
Well ,me and the boy did the early morning slog along Hurst Shingle bank on sunday, And boy was it worth it!! Another cracking race, Well done to all crews especially CINZANO (What a good noise that boat makes!!) and POWERBOAT ASIA, Neck and neck at hurst.
Surprised to see the Curtis Rib Running quite well on the way back but missing north head.... So thought she had retired, Racing Silverline Crept by slowly on way back to Cowes Engine screaming but making very slow headway, Sounded like a drive problem? Bounty Hunter seems to get further
with each race! Be nice to see her back through Hurst, Keep trying lads! Sad also not to see Tony Tolls APACHE return this year, Hope to see an account of his troubles on this site.Looking forward to Marcus's Log of his race also.
All in all a good days racing, Met some nice people too, One gent in a Cougar race jacket with a hand held scanner, Used to run in the Honda series
said to me.." is your name Colin" My son said i went white with shock, I thought how did he know that!!! Then the penny dropped "BOATMAD" Doh!
See you all next time. Colin
