Sort of takes the edge off it for local spectators and boaters on a budget and limited fuel money. Thanks fo all your efforts though ,i wont ask why.
Good news indeed on the marathon boats.
Any copoc boats fancy joining me in a long wk end in the channell islands instead.

Sorry to hear the John - I'm sure it can't be helped! It's the challenge of the race that's more important for the racers although as Catweazle says it does reduce the spectacle a great deal for the spectators!
We are still coming - the RYA are coming down next week to watch us "escape" from the boat in the workshop - I have no idea what this will prove but if it makes them happy ............. The good news is that Bob Wartinger who is the head of safety for the UIM has given us his approval to race all we need now is an RYA measurement certificate and we're good to race!

I have to thank all the people that have offered their safety boats for this venture.
Sorry to disappoint, the organising team spent over 5 months trying to bring it on.
On a more positive note, 19 Marathon Boats will compete in the CTC, and 20 plus for the CPC.

how many safety boats have you got? needed? i must admit the start around the hurst area,is a bit of a bind for the smaller safety boats, depending where you have launched from

I wasn't being completely flippant when I suggested making your own test rig based on your boats measurements to demonstrate (and use) for dunk test training.

Sorry for not taking you seriously, but have you any idea of the cost, time and effort in building a complete cockpit that you could use? Even assuming you could make it fit Andark's rig it would be totally out of the question to swap over and if it didn't it would at the least have to float on its own and be flipped by a crane, my only hope is that the RYA think it's a waste of my cash as well!
Unless I'm missing something here?
Assuming the RYA give them their approval to race we may have a seat available as well - would need a dunk test though - available on the 7th of August at Andark I believe!

Race Entries - CTC & CPC Races
Although we have reached the official Entry Cut Off, if anyone out there, especially Classic Boats maybe, wants to enter either race from Cowes, please do contact John Moore.
Your entry will be welcomed of course, and it will increase the spectacle too !!!

Safety Boats
Hi! Guys,
Just to let you know we will have some information for you next week. We appreciate that now the start has been moved it is a bit of a slog to Hurst but we will bear this in mind when a position is given to you. Thanks for all your offers of help.
