[QUOTE=Cookee;193220]To say I am incredibly pleased with the result would be a massive understatement - the boat looks absolutely bloody marvellous and looks like it's doing 100mph just sat there!

Well done guys !

Looks like Jon & Nick should finally have some direct competition, also looks as though you will stay dry in big following sea's, I can't wait to see further progress & how she performs.

Once again superb achievement

Considering the level of investment based on a 3 ft model, I think I would be slightly on edge at sea trials to say the least. Slightly different from scrap heap challenge where you can laugh at each others success or failure. Ferking good luck with it

I am incredibly proud of what Kitten and Willy have managed in what was still a very good time frame - we started last Christmas with a pile of laser cut MDF and now we have a completed hull - just need to put all of those bits I have in it now!

In view of the RB11 cancellation has anyone got any ideas for some record runs? Apart from the Brass Monkey when is the first Marathon race of the season?
Fantastic looking boat and a credit to all involved, it would be great to see the boat in Guernsey for a basic race/poker run at some time.
Good luck with the rest of the build, if she goes as well as she looks you are onto a winner

Looks great, well done! Cant wait to hear how the seatrials go.

What are you powering it with, what drives?

Also, how did you trim the flange in the mould???

2x yanmar 6BY2 260hp six cylinder deisel with arneson drives.

There is no flange, we only laid up to the edge of the mould, apart from up in the bows where we had to go over to get the mat to sit, that was green trimmed with my special chisel, then joined them.

If that's a three foot model, then Cookee is only two foot six.

[QUOTE=Cookee;193194]A big day today, we released the deck last night and floated the hull free in the mould after turning it back to the upright position.

Well done you guys and congratulations on a fine looking boat.

Only another boatbuilder would ever appreciate the pain and anxiety that goes into Giving Birth to a new baby !!

I have already nearly finished my next hull plug , an 880 triple stepped race rib , so I have not been hanging about. Must get back to finishing installing the machinery in the R34 tho ! With all these new boats 2011 is going to be busy year !

Mike

All being well, you should see it in Guernsey next september for the Guernsey Marathon race
It'll be good to have the big boys back in the island and we've got quite some courses planned

It is our intention to spend a few days in the Channel islands to give some of you guys a spin in the new boat - but beware it will be a slaes orientated visit and I won't leave without at least one order! As Kitten says the first boat will be powered by the 260 Yanmars, but we can supply outboard or inboard versions - you name pretty much you can have it!
