well tell us more how did the bullet catcher do ...
I thought it was, fantastic shot of the Velocity in flight and I did have a suspicion it was cut down in hight but WHY was it for weight saving and to give the boat a lower CG ... See Jon yours could be doing this soon

HI Cfun, nice pic of the Velocity.
That is an earlier race model that i believe uses the old 280 hull with a modified deck. This then morphed into the VR1 with altered hull similar deck but with integral swim platform. I am sure that the Velocity with the blue stripe in the background of that photo is a VR1.
Of course the main difference between the boat in the picture and mine is that if you put mine in the water at the moment it would sink!!!
I think someone has been firing blanks at it!

Looking at the Velocity in the picture closer, the hull has been cut down to reduce height (and weight). That explains how the seats in those boats are on the floor (Phantom style) whereas the VR1's have stand up bolsters or you wouldnt be able to see over the screen.

Sorry, but this is a 30 VR1 cut down to lower the CG and its a 2006 boat..not an old 280, the one in the back is an old 280 used for racing .

Mr Daredevil, I think this has gone on long enough - I know that threads often go off in different directions, but this thread is meant to be a record of building our boat, and I have a funny feeling people are going to stop reading this if all they ever see is squabbling over wave heights and soft drinks. I like Gino, he's a good mate of mine, but I don't know you and please could you go and start your own thread somewhere else please?
I would suggest a thread title for you but I'm sure you can use your wonderful imagination for one.
