So long as we can run a few endurance races next year, and have a class for FB without any rules, everthing should be good.

After all said and done, the hard work everyone has put into the 2008 offshore season, this is a picture that says it is all worthwhile.

To Right! It just shows that the real enthusiasts do a better job then the big blue chip Sponsors.
I wish i caught a snap shot we witness
at the start!
Cinzano pointing to the sky nearly at a degree of being virtical.
We held our breath for one moment!
It was so pleasing to see 20 30 40 year old powerboats perform as well as modern powerboats too!

Stunning CUV pic, got me pondering as Cinzano Ilmore closes up on the start boat on a calm day with a light breeze the flag drops, out of the mists of time to their port side a familiar sight appears an 84 CUV with Cinzano written on the side Della Valle shakes his fist you stole my sponsor and with that the throttles of his 2 Lambo's making around 1300+hp are rammed home, but too their starboard side lies yet another CUV at 41' it's larger and with 2 Isotta fraschini diesel engines knocking out around 1550-1600Hp and going by the name of Follett Cars the battle of the CUV Gladiator's is on ...
Follett cars pulls slightly ahead too the first turn mark but a tighter turning Cinzano steels the lead but on the long run down the course Follett fights back and after the first lap it's Follett with a slight lead over Cinzano and then again Cinzano, as much as Cinzano tries it can make up no ground on the more powerful diesel Follett and as the flag drops it's Follett, Cinzano and Cinzano but our valiant 2008 challengers have been relegated to last place in the Revived Cinzano ... Long live the CUV's

Beken / ML - I needed them for various web sites, and boating magazines - P.S. The Chinese Boating press are taking a real interest in the RB and Cowes.

I know I'm barking ... you have to be a bit barking mad to like boats, anyhow it was my interpretation of which were the quicker CUV's through the years, as I had assumed Follett the quickest followed by the 84' CUV then today's Ilmore CUV I guess in reality the new Cinzano could compete against the Old Follett if it is still active in Sweden was it??? but would I be right in saying today's Cinzano is the very same boat as the one raced by Della Valle in 84 as Cinzano except with Ilmores as opposed to 2v Lambo's or is it another CUV ??? err I'm confused

Thanks

Actually it's funny you should say that having been at the 84' to race and looked over the boat and taken a few pics, I seemed to recall it had as you say Mercs Style big blocks no doubt from the GM range of 8.2ltr's in it's engine bay of around 650+hp each it was from the program of finishing order and times in the Boatmad library that said Lambo's, I was searching yesterday for my 84 program and Powerboat and waterskiing mag written up by Dave ie.. Geriatric on this forum

You've started it now!
Mr Stevens will be gagging to get involved in this.
I'll start it for him, there were two CUV's that Della Valle raced around that time, I think Tims 'Cinzano', is the one Della Valle took round Britain in '84, but he had a class 1 rigged CUV 38 running at the same time.
Over to the Fish.

OH my gad so it may not be the very same Cinzano CUV that raced at Cowes and Camden trophy that year That Della Valle must of had some kinda cash flow for powerboating to throw money around like that back then
