I assume people hitting the submarine barrier was going too far down while mustering?
It's a bit like Bembridge Ledge, innit Captain?

a private affair???
A bit disapointed that the results have still not been posted on the RB08 web site.
As I have not been able to get the marine track working at all, not once, I was relying on the RB08 results page, gallery and video page to keep up to date.
It may be ok for you guys in the UK that are able to be at the start and/or finish line but for the rest of us in the world wide overseas audience its impossible to follow what going on. Bit of a poor show really.

Yep - there's a bit of an information blackout at the moment, with no positions shown on MarineTrack when you're on the "race" view. Filter down to view by "class " though and you'll see the boats positions.
Certainly is disappointing to not have results published though.
RIB International were promising video upload to their site every evening.... they might as well just have a link to harbour webcams though!

Back home now and missing all the fun.
We had an ok first leg - was going well upto Portland but lost a few class positions over Lyme Bay and another postion approaching Plymouth.
The boat really needed a lot of setting up time - but was still running pretty good. However seats were an awfull arrangement and Konstantinos was in a lot of pain - so I was not pushing on at all. Also had to stop each time we had to change fuel tanks, each time she jumped out of gear - so far from ideal!
He could not race the leg to Bangor - which also meant in effect the leg to Oban was out - so the decision was made to pull out - and the boat is now going back to Greece this week.
Only did the first day and the waiting around day in Plymouth - but a great experience and so good to meet so many old friends and make so many new ones. My very best wishes to everone taking part.
I'm going to take a few days off - and try to get over the disappointment - wanted to do well so much and all very frustrating!

I am gonna give up trying to follow Steve and the lads in boat No.5
Instead I'm gonna send them a crate of homing pigeons and every 25 miles they can send one on its way with co-ordinates writen on a scrap of paper strapped to its leg.
It'll take about a month for the bird to get back here to Malaysia but it will be the quickest way to chart their progress.
Also a pigeon coup wont look out of place on the back of a boat from up north, just have to make sure the whippets dont get in there.
oh, and back luck Adam - still, good experience for the next RB...

Hi Adam.
I know it is no consulation, but I saw the boat in Gunwharf, and really it is a beautiful thing.
Very sorry to not be able to keep up with the progress of Ikon, as keen to see whether it is the boat I should be buying for the next RB.

Boat looks great, but the first thing I thought when I saw the seating was "f**k that's going to hurt"!
Sorry it didn't work out. Really doesn't seem like a fair test for your hull design.

OK, managed to get onto Marinetrack. They've started and current leaders seem to be #471 Silverline, #81 Wettpunkt, #77 Sealbay. Team Silverline must had worked hard overnight to get their mechanical problems sorted!
Team Jersey are still in the race despite their problems yesterday. Don't reckon they got much sleep last night.
The tracker on Swipes isn't working so Jon & Nick could be up there somewhere. Or not. Bandit's got no tracking data either.
