Future races may also reflect historic routes, or entirely new challenges, but the point of reassurance here is that there will 100% be Venture Cup 2 .....3 .....etc.

I think that reassurance that all of the team are on board for the long haul, even if it means bringing on new blood is essential to anyone wanting to invest in this event from every angle - teams, sponsors and corporate event sponsors, whilst some of the proposed routes are somewhat ambitious there are plenty of long distance events in other sports such as yacht racing so I really hope we can gain some momentum and kick start marathon racing into the next gear!

We have a new entrant who needs some help finding the following:
I will require Two 700-900HP diesels which I want to mate to Arneson Surface drives, can you help with finding a couple of Seateks 700/800hp and if there are any deals going on S/H Arnesons capable of handling that power?
Any ideas anyone? Obviously it's urgent.

More Safety Boats,
As anticipated, because we ARE going to start this race from Cowes (on the Yacht Squadron line) we have been advised by the RYA that we are going to have to "sanitize" the area down the 10 mile stretch from Cowes to Hurst with 50 safety boats, We already have some 20 boats so we are a few short. We can't promise money for fuel etc but we will give any boat helping us for that 1/2 hr of the start Cowes/Monte-Carlo momentoes for helping and invitations to our (invitation only) parties in Cowes!!
You will be watching a unique spectacle unfold in front of you as the fleet start their 2,400 mile journey to Monte-Carlo.

At Last!
There is going to be a great article about the Cowes to Monte-Carlo, it's history and the race this time round in the Sunday Telegraph this weekend - including some great pics.
This is the first time in many years that a British National Newspaper has taken an interest in our sport - Hallelujah!
With luck it's going to be just the first of many such articles.

Good News
The Venture Cup – Cowes to Monte-Carlo 2013 challenge has been offered the Harmsworth Trophy by Lord Normanton and his Trustees and will now be presented in Monaco to the first boat home which has had the same crew on board for every leg of the race.
This magnificent solid bronze trophy, commissioned by Sir Alfred Harmsworth, proprietor of the Daily Mail in those far off days, was donated as an International Cup for motorboats and intended to encourage the development of the sport through long distance offshore racing. First presented in 1903 - the year that the first plane flew - the trophy has since become powerboating legend. This is not just a story about a great trophy but an era of extraordinary pioneers in design and memories, which are legion. The Cowes to Monte-Carlo challenge next year race epitomises the concept of the Harmsworth and the winners this time round in this particular section will have truly deserved to have their names engraved on this great trophy.

Don't think so! It's the Venture Cup Seres brand and That's how it's staying.

Mike, I have two SeaTek 760 Diesels crated in storage. Also a few other spares. No arnesons, but some serious CAL500 surface drives that will handle 2,400 torques. Let me know if there are any questions about them.
