I know many competitors are working very hard on their boats / red tape for the event - I just need your entry forms to show our Event Sponsors what a great occasion this will be!

Dry Martini, entered in the historic class, was manufactured in 1973, not 1980. It raced in 1975.

All race boat entry details on http://www.cowes2010.co.uk are supplied by the competitor.
"Year of Manufacture:" is asking for engine not boat.

Richard Carr Perpetual Challenge Trophy
Sadly the "Driver of the first boat to Torquay" Trophy was lost in '07.
The winner in '08 was Richard Carr, he blew the doors off and ran to Torquay in record time - some say he was running at 134 MPH.
In '09 Scott Younger got to Torquay first - if at a slightly lower speed - due of course to the sea conditions.
Richard Carr has kindly bought a new trophy to reflect the last couple of years and for the future.
Richard Carr Perpetual Challenge Trophy - Driver of the first boat to Torquay
The cocktail shaker trophy made out of Silver will be awarded to the lunatic who fancies getting to Torquay first!

Bring On The Anoraks
In actual fact Dry Martini IV raced in 1974/75/78 & 80,with various drivers from Bonomi to David Hagan who chartered it for Harmsworth points in USA.
Hopefully `Black Tornado` with his passion for cigarette history won`t haul me over the coals, but if it`s wrong he certainly will.
See Mr.Ciao, the moment you go into print the machine guns come out,not that your really bothered I know.

I take a pragmatic, laid back approach to - as Fabio Buzzi said to me yesterday the biggest Powerboat Race in the world in 2010.

Good to hear that Richard Carr has donated a new trophy - one more for the collection.
Many thanks Richard.
What happened to Richard's entry though.
He has mysteriously (to me at least) disappeared from the entrants list !

I remember a time when that waster 'woodpecker' reckoned he was gonna buy that boat. he's all hot air though. I don't think he could afford it.
Have a blast Brian.

Class 3, V24 & OCR
Sad to hear the news that the ORDA event in Torquay can't take place due to many factors.
The BPRC would love to see Class 3 boats to hold their National Finals at the Cowes Poole Cowes race, V24 boats and OCR will also be most welcome.
The entry fee for Class 3 & OCR will be £150.00 & £300.00 for V24.
We have negotiated special rates with Red Funnel if you wish to use the ferry service. >> http://www.britishpowerboatracingclu.../redfunnel.doc
All competitors will be given a race pack with souvenir items.
Our nightly social functions are free for competitors, family and friends.
The trophies you will be competing for are a derivative of the old Daily Express News Boy.
There will be no space in the Cowes Yacht Haven this year for Camper Vans - Our Title Sponsor RB12 will be using this for a bar, food court, live music, street entertainers, and various merchandising stalls.
I look forward to seeing you all in Cowes.
