Just thought that you guys might like to see the serious end of Warpath. Arneson drives and Herring props. A beautiful job done by "The Chief" Bobby Saccenti.

I would rather see some good shots of her racing? Aidan - anyone?
All very well to see the Venture Cup use Chris Davies shots for pre race publicity - I had to work hard to find the £ to put Chris in an helicopter for 2010 and 2011.

Don't bring the "Teams" into this.
I posted and noted your appearance on CI ITV this evening.

Copyright
I Keep reading "copyright P Sweeney".
What about "copyright C Davies" re the pics that have been on your website and vcup site during the months preceding this?
I understand most of those pics are really from Cowes Torquay Cowes and Round Britain.
When will the film from the helicopter be available for view?

I think you will find there was no helicopter sad really also no official photographer and why because funds maybe spent elsewhere sorry but for such a big event a helicopter and official photographer should have been top of the list i would have thought! Claire

Its time for some of you (and you know who you are) to take a good long look back through your own posts over the last few years and ask yourselves if you are pursuing the right hobby !! I am sure you would be much better suited to Hunting, Greenpeace or some other worthy cause.
Hope all goes well today Guys. Weather not looking its best !!
Anyone know what time start is ?

Bob - racestart is scheduled for 1000.
Visibility is changing by the minute down here so they may have to run a bad-weather course. Briefing currently underway.

I was up the Docks in London and had a great time looking at the Boats Close up for the first time , i Dont know the politics of getting a race like this off the ground but i bet it aint easy to say the least , My guess is there have been a few working very hard to make this happen well done to you all . Hats off to all the Guys that brought and raced there boats They just wanna race !! i have some Great pictures of all the boats going down river .
I would have loved to be able do this sort of raceing but i just Dont have the funds and if i did i am not sure i could put up with all the Red tape .as for some of the posts on here this sit needs a cry baby /wingers and moaners section . Unlike Mr Loyd this is my last post on here .Motavater if you need help with Ramesgate you can call me.

Snide remark sunshine but you see, when you get to 74 and have been in this game for 30 years you have a right to (a) change your mind if you want to and (b) to be a cry baby/winger/and a moaner if you want to, after all, what else am I supposed to do besides building a new Marine Business, playing Golf, and having a few liquid lunches with friends. Oh, and developing a new powerboating challenge in my spare time!
Now back to the tracker system to see if Warlord can beat Cinzano home. And very well done to the Scorpion boys, those boats are just great in the rough. My thoughts on the Fugitive fiasco I will keep to myself - for the time being. Just gutted for Francis who has taken part in every Marathon race since RB08. A great and true competitor and a stalwart of Marathon racing.

Almost 80 knots toward Corbiere lighthouse off Jersey with some nast overfalls, imagine the sort of footage from a helicopter.
I would pay to watch that.
Saw the boats fuel up last night in St pp, those engines sound amazing.
Bring back powerboat week with all the marathon boats & P1

Why? I can't understand why some on here get so upset over certain comments. I treat it as banter.
Is this forum just for nodding dogs.
Love your last comment. Anyone know what time it starts? I thought FB, Twitter and forums would publish that. Then again its the organisers call on that.
If the organisers promised a helicopter as part of the entry fee then they should get one if not they don't.
I think its time now to have a thread opened for those type of comments and leave this one to the racing.
Also it would be good to have a thread (I think its known as a sticky thread)about racing that streamlines all the rules and regulations for all classes so questions do not get repeated.
Boatmad is a great platform for everyone to express themselves and promote a sport in a difficult time.

Paul, as Aidan has said if you can read between the lines there are some valid criticisms and peoples opinions are important. Whether the middle of a race is the right place to openly discuss those is another matter.
Also I find a lot of the posts say more about the individual posting rather than the individual event or sport as a whole. We could maybe do with an ignore button on Boatmad so we don't have to look at it. It would be nice if the so called supporters could think twice about what they post and just realise the destructiveness of what they say.
Competitiveness is good, hell that's what racing is all about, but it should be reserved between the actual teams rather than organisers. And egos are best reserved for those behind a dashboard.
What struck me was the people like you, Renegade, Andymac etc that put their hand in their pockets to actually go out and be part of it. Out of approx 200 people that did that with us on the Thames I have not heard one disparaging word only comments such as when is the next one. 200 very quickly becomes 2000 and so on and Ramsgate can expect additional support on the water just from that. And that is good.
For us East Coasters as well there was a very important sponsor involved on the Thames that will make a huge difference to the future round here and they went away happy so watch this space.

It seems the race start from Guernsey has been delayed due to poor vis & rain.
Scheduled start now 11:00hrs.
Not sure if course remains as planned, via Nab Tower & St.Catherines, or whether it will be shortened.
